Gil's Supper Club is a throw back to the supper clubs of the 50s and 60s. In a town of around of around 1300 people you wouldn't expect a treasure with excellent service and great food. The fried chicken was the reason of our drive of 70+ miles this time but prime rib on Saturday was on special: The table next to us was impressed by it. Another bonus was the Corn Fritters rolled in powdered sugar. Loved the interior as well. Worth the trip.

This place is classic Midwest fare and I come whenever visiting family. The place is known for fried chicken and it is excellent! However, I highly recommend the pork tenderloin! The breading is a cross between a hush puppy with a little sweetness added. Amazing! The bar is solid, the service is great! The only comment for improvement is the host is not overly friendly and that detracts from the overall ambiance. He seems overworked and a little stoic. He seems to be hosting whenever I go so maybe he can use some time off. He seems friendlier to people he knows and that is off putting to non-regulars. Support local, eat here! Go Now!

So disappointed. Also sad for the long standing icon of a restaurant. Went to famous Wednesday nite chicken special. Not the number of patrons there I'm used to. No one waiting available tables. Looked so different. 3 of us had the chicken 1 had their tenderloin. My chicken breast was smaller than the palm of my hand. But the tenderloin was darker than chocolate cake. Cmon the 2 things your known for. Sorry to say we won't be back.

Another local, family-owned business I'm proud to support! They have something for everyone being as how they not only have the best breading in the world, but they also offer some top notch salad entrees.

When ever we are in town we head for Gil's supper club in Hanna City Illinois. The fried chicken is absolutely delicious. So is the fried whole catfish ( minus the head) the best I have had. They also have a variety of different steaks, and the biggest pork tenderloin I have ever had, also very good. We always look forward to stopping by when in the area

Twelve of our family members went to Gil's tonight. Rarely, does it work out that everyone is more than satisfied with service, food, etc. (hard to please all of the people all of the time). Tonight we had ONE server! We sat on the lower level near the drink station. Our server was on the ball the entire time we were there! She made sure our beverages were topped off, our food was all hot when it arrived, and the meals were all done the way we all ordered them. Thank you for such a great experience! We will be back. We hope Gil's know they have a great server on staff!
